又僧祇律云。佛告諸比丘。過去世時。香山中有仙人住處。去山不遠有一池水。時水中有鼈。出池求食。食已向日張口而眠。時香山中有諸獼猴。入池飲水。已上岸見此鼈張口。而眠時獼猴便作婬法。即以身生。內鼇口中。鼇覺合口藏六甲裏。如所說偈言。

Furthermore, the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya states: The Buddha told the bhikṣus: In a past age, on Mount Gandhamādana, there was the dwelling of a rṣi. Not far from the mountain was a pond. At that time, there was a softshell turtle in the water that came out of the pond to seek food. Having eaten, it faced the sun, opened its mouth, and slept. At that time, there were monkeys on Mount Gandhamādana that went into the pond to drink water. Having climbed onto the bank, a monkey saw this turtle sleeping with its mouth open; the monkey then acted lewdly and inserted his penis into the turtle's mouth. Waking up, the turtle closed its mouth and tucked in its six limbs within its shell. As the verse says:
