若人親近惡知識　現世不得好名聞
必以惡友相親近　當來亦墮阿鼻獄
若人親近善知識　隨順彼等所業行
雖不現證世間利　未來當得盡苦因

"If a person draws close to bad spiritual friends, / In the present life they will not gain good renown; / Because they certainly draw close to bad companions, / In the future they will also fall into the Avīci Hell. / If a person draws close to good spiritual friends / And follows along with their actions and conduct, / Although they may not presently realize worldly benefits, / In the future they will certainly exhaust the causes of suffering."
