猶如死囚　將詣都市　動向死道
人命如是　如河駛流　往而不返
人命如是　逝者不還

'Just like a condemned prisoner / being taken to the execution grounds, / each step heading toward the path of death;
human life is like this. / Like a river's swift current, / going and never returning;
human life is like this: / those who pass on do not return.'
