Furthermore, the *Mahāratnakūṭa-sūtra* states: "When a bodhisattva cultivates meditative concentration, there are further ten dharmas not shared with the two vehicles. What are the ten? First, cultivating meditative concentration without a self, because he is complete in the dhyāna concentrations of the Tathāgatas. Second, cultivating meditative concentration without savoring or attaching, relinquishing the defiled mind and not seeking pleasure for himself. Third, cultivating meditative concentration complete with all supernormal activities, in order to know the mental actions of sentient beings. Fourth, cultivating meditative concentration in order to know the minds of the multitude and deliver all sentient beings. Fifth, cultivating meditative concentration by practicing great compassion, in order to cut off the afflictions and fetters of sentient beings. Sixth, cultivating meditative concentration with all dhyānas and samādhis, skillfully knowing entry and emergence, transcending the three realms. Seventh, cultivating meditative concentration and constantly attaining mastery, because he is complete in all wholesome dharmas. Eighth, cultivating meditative concentration with a quiescent mind, surpassing all dhyānas and samādhis of the two vehicles. Ninth, cultivating meditative concentration constantly entering into wisdom, transcending all worldly realms to reach the other shore. Tenth, cultivating meditative concentration able to promote the true Dharma, carrying forward and exalting the Triratna so that it is never cut off. Concentrations such as these are not shared with śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas."
