Seventh, mindfulness of rest: this means the thoughts of the mind are at rest, and one's disposition is calm and circumspect, neither hasty nor violent. One is ever focused single-mindedly, taking joy in solitude, always seeking skillful means to enter the concentration of samādhi, ever mindful of not craving, with excellent radiance advancing upward. Eliminating all turbulent thoughts, one personally attains nirvāṇa. Not departing from the mindfulness of rest, one then obtains merit. This is called mindfulness of rest.
