"Those who keep the precepts purely are respected by others;
Respectfully, according to the season, they give gruel.
Ten benefits enrich the practitioner:
Complexion, strength, longevity, happiness, and clear eloquence;
Previously eaten food and wind are eliminated, hunger and thirst are dispelled;
This is called medicine, as spoken by the Buddha.
If one wishes to be born in human or heavenly realms to enjoy long life and bliss,
One should now give gruel to the Saṃgha."
