Now, the reason the true Dharma spreads lies in esteeming the sūtras. The reason the field of merit increases is due to the efficacy of the fasting precepts. Therefore, renouncing the offering of a single meal causes blessings to inherit surplus provisions; giving the funds of a single coin results in rewards surpassing the heavens. Hence the field of merit is to be valued, while the entanglements of wealth may be taken lightly. Together we establish the unhindered assembly, equally incurring limitless blessings.
