增輝記梵云。拓鬪提奢唐言四方僧物。但筆者訛。拓為招。去鬪奢。留提。故稱招提。即今十方住持寺院。是也。

The Zenghuiji says: In Sanskrit it is cāturdiśa; in the Tang language, 'belonging to the monks of the four quarters'. But scribes mistakenly wrote tuodu (cātur) as zhao, dropped the du and she, and retained ti; hence it was called zhaoti. These are today's monasteries for the abbots of the ten directions.
