梵網經偈云。明人忍慧強能持如是法。未成佛道間。安獲五種利。一者十方佛。愍念常守護。二者命終時正見心觀喜。三者生生處。為諸菩薩友。四者功德聚。戒度悉成就。五者今後世。性戒福慧滿。

A verse in the Brahmā Net Sūtra states: / "The wise, whose patience and wisdom are strong, / Can uphold such dharmas as these. / During the time before attaining the Buddha Path, / They peacefully obtain five kinds of benefits: / First, the Buddhas of the ten directions / In their compassionate mindfulness always protect them; / Second, at the time of death, / With right view, their minds are joyful; / Third, in their places of rebirth, / They become companions to all bodhisattvas; / Fourth, their collection of merits / And their precept perfection are all accomplished; / Fifth, in this present and in future lives, / Their natural precepts, blessings, and wisdom are fulfilled."
