五福德經。佛言人持食施僧。有五種利。一色。二力。三命。四安。五辯（彼經廣有說文。此五常福報。若施者得當來報受者獲現在樂）。若上座施食。應誦偈云。施者受者俱獲五常。色。力。命。安。得無礙辯。

The Wu fude jing says: The Buddha said that when a person gives food to the Saṃgha, there are five kinds of benefits: First, appearance; second, strength; third, life; fourth, ease; fifth, eloquence (that sūtra explains this extensively; these are the five constant karmic retributions. If one gives, the giver obtains future retribution, and the receiver obtains present joy). If the elder presents food, he should recite the verse: 'Giver and receiver alike obtain the five constants: / appearance, strength, life, ease, / and attain unhindered eloquence.'
