2.166

大法炬陀羅尼經云。佛言人身難得。雖得其壽復促。於短命中。更有三惡。一心性佷弊。不受善言。二常懷慳嫉。懼他勝己。三設知勝己。恥而不問。

The Mahāvaipulya Mahādhāraṇī Sūtra says: The Buddha said, 'A human body is difficult to obtain. Although obtained, one's lifespan is short. Within this short life, there are three further evils: first, a stubborn and crooked mind that does not accept good words; second, constantly harboring miserliness and envy, fearing that others may surpass oneself; third, even if knowing that another surpasses oneself, feeling ashamed and not asking questions.'
