分別善惡所起經云。傳遠疏通。誡於太察篤信守一誡於壅弊。勇猛剛毅。誡於暴亂。仁愛溫良誡於不斷。廣心浩大。誡於狐疑。沈靜安舒。誡於後時。刻削隘忽。誡於熛疾。多人長辭。誡於無實。

The Sūtra on the Distinction of Good and Bad Deeds says: 'Transmitting far and being open and conversant—beware of being overly scrutinizing. Devoted in faith and holding to oneness—beware of obstruction and dogmatism. Courageous, fierce, resolute, and unyielding—beware of violence and chaos. Benevolent, loving, warm, and gentle—beware of being irresolute. Broad-minded and vast—beware of wavering doubt. Calm, quiet, relaxed, and leisurely—beware of falling behind. Sharp, austere, and swift—beware of rashness and fury. Speaking many grand words—beware of lack of substance.'
