亦云十二部經。一修多羅（契經）。二祇夜（應頌）。三和伽羅（授記）。四伽他（調頌）。五尼陀羅（因緣）。六優陀那（自說）。七伊帝目多（本事）。八闍陀伽（本生）。九毘佛略（方廣）。十阿浮達摩（未有）。十一婆陀（譬喻）。十二優波提舍（論議）。若小乘。只有九部。無自說授記方廣等。

Also called the twelve limbs of scriptures: 1. Sūtra (matching scriptures); 2. Geya (responsive verses); 3. Vyākaraṇa (prophecy); 4. Gāthā (regulated verses); 5. Nidāna (causes and conditions); 6. Udāna (spontaneous utterances); 7. Ityukta (past occurrences); 8. Jātaka (birth stories); 9. Vaipulya (expanded); 10. Adbhutadharma (unprecedented); 11. Avadāna (analogies); 12. Upadeśa (discussions). If [it is] the Hīnayāna, there are only nine limbs; it lacks spontaneous utterances, prophecies, expanded teachings, and so forth.
