古今譯經圖記云。初是漢靈帝建寧二年庚戌安世高首譯出義決律一卷。次有比丘諸禁律一卷。至曹魏世。天竺僧曇摩迦羅。此云法時。到洛陽見僧全無律範。於嘉平年中。與曇諦譯出羯磨僧祇。戒心圖記即律名始也。

The Gujin yijing tuji says: At first, in the second year of Jianning (gengxu) under Emperor Ling of the Han, An Shigao was the first to translate the Yijue lü in one fascicle. Next there was the Biqiu zhujin lü in one fascicle. Coming to the Cao-Wei era, the Indian monk Dharmakāla—translated here as 'Time of Dharma'—arrived in Luoyang and saw that the monks completely lacked rules and models of discipline. During the Jiaping era, he and Dharmasatya translated the Mahāsaṃghika Karman. The Jiexin tuji [notes that] this was the beginning of the term 'lü' [in Chinese titles].
