經云。時波斯匿王聞優填王用香雕像。乃用紫磨黃金鑄佛像。亦高五尺。此為始也。
The sūtra says: At that time, King Prasenajit heard that King Udayana used incense [wood] to carve an image, so he used purple-sheen refined gold to cast a Buddha image, also five feet high; this was the beginning.
