業報差別經云。具修增上十善。得生欲界散地天。若修有漏十善。以定相應。生色界天。若離色修。遠離身口。以定相應。生無色界○正法念處經云。因持戒。不殺。不盜。不婬。由此三善。得生天○辯意長者子經云。有五事。得生天。一不殺物命。令眾生安樂。二賢良不盜。布施無貪。濟諸窮乏。三貞潔。不犯外色男女。護戒奉齊精進。四誠信不欺。護口四過。五不飲酒。

The Karmavibhaṅga-sūtra states: "By fully practicing the superior ten wholesome deeds, one attains rebirth in the heavens of the dispersed realms of the desire realm. If one practices the ten wholesome deeds with outflows in conjunction with concentration, one is born in the heavens of the form realm. If one practices detached from form, separated from body and speech, in conjunction with concentration, one is born in the formless realm." The Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna-sūtra states: "Due to upholding the precepts, not killing, not stealing, and not committing sexual misconduct—by these three wholesome actions, one attains rebirth in heaven." The Bianyi zhangzhezi jing states: "There are five matters through which one attains rebirth in heaven: first, not killing living beings, bringing peace and happiness to sentient beings; second, being virtuous and not stealing, giving charitably without greed, and relieving the impoverished; third, being chaste, not violating other women or men, guarding the precepts, observing the fasts, and being vigorous; fourth, being truthful and not deceitful, guarding against the four faults of speech; fifth, not drinking alcohol."
