天竺之儀也。謂左右兩膝互跪著地。故釋子皆右膝。若言胡跪。音訛也。
This is an etiquette of Tianzhu. It means kneeling with the left and right knees alternately touching the ground; therefore sons of the Śākya clan all use the right knee. Calling it 'kneeling in the barbarian manner' (hùguì) is a phonological error.
