高僧無垢眼。又云青眼律師。初譯出十誦律。京師僧尼競寫。諺云。都人繕寫。紙貴如玉。

The eminent monk Vimalākṣa, also called the Blue-Eyed Vinaya Master, initially translated the Sarvāstivāda Vinaya. Monks and nuns in the capital competed to transcribe it. A common saying went: 'The people of the capital copy it so much that paper is as precious as jade.'
