3.25

賢者五福經云。說法得五福。一當生長壽。由聽者不殺故。二得大富。由聽者不盜故。三得端正。由聽者和氣故。四得名譽由聽者歸依三寶故。五得聰明。由聽者曉了妙慧故。

The Sūtra on the Wise Person's Five Fortunes says: “Expounding the Dharma obtains five fortunes: first, longevity in future births, because the listeners refrain from killing; second, great wealth, because the listeners refrain from stealing; third, a handsome appearance, because the listeners are of harmonious temper; fourth, renown, because the listeners take refuge in the Three Jewels; fifth, keen intelligence, because the listeners comprehend sublime wisdom.”
