即長老左右也。肇云。恭己順命給侍之者。菩薩從兜率下生經云。侍者具八法。一信根堅固。二其心覓進。三身無病。四精進。五具念心。六心不憍慢。七能成定意。八具足聞智。

This refers to those at the elder's left and right. [Seng]zhao states: "One who humbles himself, obeys orders, and waits upon [the master]." The Sūtra on the Bodhisattva's Descent from Tuṣita to Be Born states: "An attendant possesses eight qualities: first, firm faculties of faith; second, a mind that seeks progress; third, a body free from disease; fourth, vigor; fifth, possessed of mindfulness; sixth, a mind without arrogance; seventh, able to achieve a concentrated mind; eighth, fully endowed with learning and wisdom."
