僧祇云。佛問病比丘。比丘答我病不損先得數數食。時身得安樂。世尊制戒故我病不損。佛言聽病比丘數數食。

The Mahāsāṃghika [Vinaya] states: The Buddha asked a sick monk. The monk replied: "My disease does not diminish; previously, when I was able to eat multiple meals, at that time my body attained ease and comfort. Because the World-Honoured One instituted the precept, my disease does not diminish." The Buddha said: "I allow sick monks to eat multiple meals."
