佛地論云。一不活畏。二惡名畏。三死畏。四趣畏。五怯畏（畏亦怖也）○妙色三經云。由愛故生憂。由愛故生怖。別離於愛者。無憂亦無怖。

The Buddhabhūmi-śāstra states: "First, fear of lack of livelihood; second, fear of bad reputation; third, fear of death; fourth, fear of evil destinies; fifth, fear of timidity (fear also means dread)." The Three Sūtras on Wonderful Form state: "From love arises grief; from love arises fear. One who is free from love has neither grief nor fear."
