The Sigālovāda-sūtra says: 'First, seeing them do evil, go to a secluded place to enlighten, admonish, and stop them; second, whenever there is an urgent matter, rush to rescue and protect them; third, regarding all confidential words, one must not speak them to others; fourth, constantly respect and defer to each other; fifth, whenever there is a good thing, share it with them, whether much or little.'
