The Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna Sūtra says: At the end of life, the winds like knives all move; even a thousand sharp knives piercing the body would not equal a sixteenth part of it. If one has wholesome karma, one does not suffer much distress. The Xianzong lun says: If a person is fond of speaking words to mock and prick others, whether truthful or not, hurting people's hearts to the core—due to this, they will incur the suffering of wind knives.
