諂誑（上丑染反何休注公羊傳云諂佞也說文從言臽聲也臽音陷經從舀非也舀音羊小反下鬼沉反賈注國語云誑惑也杜注左傳欺也說文從言狂聲也或作㤮）。

諂誑 (The upper character has the fanqie 丑染 [chǎn]. He Xiu's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: '諂 [chǎn] means flattery.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'It takes 言 as radical and 臽 as phonetic.' 臽 is pronounced 陷 [xiàn]. In the sūtras it is written with 舀, which is incorrect; 舀 has the fanqie 羊小 [xiǎo]. The lower character has the fanqie 鬼沈 [kuáng]. Jia's commentary on the Guoyu says: '誑 [kuáng] means to delude.' Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: 'To deceive.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'It takes 言 as radical and 狂 as phonetic.' Sometimes written as 㤮).
