拯濟（拯字取䒱字上聲前第一卷已具釋下賷計反孔注尚書云濟渡也杜注左傳云益也方言恒憂也賈注國語云成也說文從水齊聲也）。

拯濟 (The character zhěng takes the rising tone of the character zhēng [䒱], as fully explained above in the first fascicle. The second character has the fanqie ji + ji [jì]. Kong Anguo's commentary to the Shangshu says: 'Jì means to ferry across.' Du Yu's commentary to the Zuo zhuan says: 'To benefit.' The Fangyan says: 'Constant anxiety.' Jia Kui's commentary to the Guoyu says: 'To accomplish.' The Shuowen says it is derived from shuǐ [水, water] with qí [齊] phonetic).
