毛道（此言譯者誤也案梵云嚩囉此云毛婆羅此云愚以毛與愚梵音相濫故誤譯此為毛義翻為毛道或云毛頭皆非也此譯者之失矣正梵音云婆羅必哩他仡那婆羅此云愚必栗託此云異仡那此云生唐云愚生是也言毛道凡夫者義不明也）。

Path of hair (毛道: this is a translator's error; examining the Sanskrit, vāla means hair, while bāla means foolish; because the Sanskrit sounds of hair and foolishness were confused, this was erroneously translated as hair, and translated by meaning as 'path of hair', or sometimes 'head of hair', both of which are wrong; this was a mistake by the translators; the correct Sanskrit is bāla-pṛthag-jana, where bāla means foolish, pṛthak means distinct, and jana means born; in Chinese this is 'foolishly born'; calling it 'hair-path ordinary persons' obscures the meaning).
