弶伽(梵語西國河名也此借唐言以響梵字猶未全切若准梵音上弶應音為凝等反亦凝之上聲也下魚迦反為正也古經或云恒伽河或云恒邊沙或云兢伽皆一也不切當也)。
Ganggā (弶伽: Sanskrit; the name of a river in the Western Regions. Here Tang words are borrowed to approximate the sound of the Sanskrit syllables, but it is still not entirely precise. According to the Sanskrit pronunciation, the upper syllable jiàng [弶] should be pronounced with the fanqie níng + děng [凝等], also being the rising tone of níng [凝]; the lower syllable, with the fanqie yú + jiā [魚迦], is correct. Ancient sūtras sometimes say the River Hengjia [恒伽河], or the 'sands of the bank of the Heng' [恒邊沙], or Jingjia [兢伽]; all are the same, yet none is completely accurate).
