險徑 (the upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 希撿 [xi + jian]. Gu Yewang states: '險 is like an obstacle.' Jia's commentary on the Guoyu states: 'Perilous.' The Fangyan states: 'High.' The Gujin zhengzi states: 'Difficult; formed from radical 阜 with 僉 as the phonetic.' 阜 is pronounced 輔 [fu]. The Collection writes it with radical 山 as 嶮, which is incorrect. The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 經定 [jing + ding]. The Guangya states: '徑 means oblique; 徑 means to pass; 徑 means a track; not following the great highway but taking a winding path is called a 徑.' Gu Yewang states: 'A small footpath.' The Shuowen states: 'A footpath; formed from radical 彳 with 巠 as the phonetic').
