禳此（上壤章反鄭注周禮却變異曰禳廣雅謝過也說文從示襄聲集中從手作攘非此義也示音祇）。

禳此 (the upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 壤章 [rang + zhang]. Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli states: 'Dispelling strange anomalies is called 禳.' The Guangya states: 'To atone for an offence.' The Shuowen states: 'Formed from radical 示 with 襄 as the phonetic.' In the Collection it is written with radical 手 as 攘, which does not carry this meaning. 示 is pronounced 祇 [qi]).
