險巇（上枕儼反顧野王云險猶阻也賈注國語云險危也方言高也說文阻難也從𨸏僉聲傳作嶮非也下喜奇反王逸注楚辭云險巇猶顛危也古今正字從山戲聲）。

Perilous and craggy (險巇: the upper character has the fanqie zhěn + yǎn [xiǎn]. Gu Yewang says: 'Xiǎn means obstructed.' Jia Kui's commentary to the Guoyu says: 'Xiǎn means perilous.' The Fangyan says: 'It means high.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Obstructed and difficult. Formed from 𨸏 (mound) with 僉 phonetic.' Transmitted texts write it as 嶮, which is incorrect. The lower character has the fanqie xǐ + qí [xī]. Wang Yi's commentary to the Chuci says: 'Xiǎnxī means tumbling into danger.' The Gujin zhengzi gives it as formed from 山 (mountain) with 戲 phonetic).
