逮得（徒奈反說文行及前也從辵丑略反[足-口+(乞-乙)]者俗謂之辵遶或云之遶者是流俗相斅之言非典語也從隶唐奈反隶亦聲也下當勒反古文正體雖從見從寸作䙷或作䙸自漢魏已來早已變體作得衛宏張揖古今官書並廢古而用得字行已久矣不可改易也）。

Attain (daide: [first syllable] tu-nai fan. The Shuowen says: 'Walking so as to overtake what is ahead. It takes the radical 辵 (chou-lüe fan); [the component 辵] is vulgarly called chuorou or zhirou, which are expressions learned by popular custom and not standard literary language. It takes the radical 隶 (tang-nai fan); 隶 is also phonetic.' The second [syllable] dang-le fan. Although the standard orthodox ancient-script form took 見 and 寸, written as 䙷 or 䙸, since the Han and Wei dynasties it had long since changed its form to 得. In the ancient and modern official documents of Wei Hong and Zhang Yi, the ancient forms were abandoned and 得 was used. It has been in use for a long time and cannot be altered.)
