欄楯（勒單反下述潤反說文欄檻也咸鑒反王注楚辭縱曰欄橫曰楯楯間子曰櫺音零子俗呼為鉤欄）。

欄楯 [balustrades and railings] (The first is fanqie: 勒 + 單; the second is fanqie: 述 + 潤. The Shuowen says: "*Lan* means railing" [pronounced 咸 + 鑒]. Wang [Yi's] commentary on the Chuci says: "Vertical ones are called *lan*, horizontal ones are called *shun*." The bars between railings are called *ling* [pronounced 零]; popularly known as *goulan* [balustrades]).
