之甿（麥耕反史記云甿隸之人也廣雅甿氓也癡也蒼頡篇云田野人也說文云田民也從田亾聲也）。

之甿 (With the fanqie mài-gēng [méng]. The Shiji says: "Mèng-lì (serfs) of the people." The Guangya says: "甿 (méng) means common people; it means ignorant." The Cang Jie pian says: "A person of the rural fields." The Shuowen jiezi says: "A field peasant; it is formed from [the semantic component] 田 (field) and takes 亾 as its phonetic component").
