防禦（魚舉反鄭注周禮禦禁也杜注左傳云禁止也說文祀也從示御聲也）。
To ward off (防禦: [禦 is pronounced] yú-jǔ fan [yù]. Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli says: "Yù means to forbid." Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "To prevent and stop." The Shuowen says: "A sacrificial rite." It takes shì [altar] as radical and yù as phonetic).
