髀髆（上卑米反字書服外也說文從骨卑聲也經文作䏶俗字也下補各反字林髆脾也音甲文字集略肩胛也說文從骨從博省聲也尃字從甫從寸經文作膊借用非本字音普廊反非也甚乖經意也）。

髀髆 (thigh and shoulder): The upper [character] is *bì* (卑米反 [běi]); the character dictionaries say: "The outer thigh." The *Shuowen* has it taking the bone radical with 卑 as its phonetic. The sūtra writes 䏶, which is a vulgar character. The lower [character] is *bó* (補各反 [pɑk̚]); the *Zilin* says: "髆 is the thigh/shoulder blade (脾, pronounced *jiǎ* [甲])." The *Wenwen jilüe* says: "The shoulder blade." The *Shuowen* has it taking the bone radical with an abbreviated form of 博 as its phonetic. The character 尃 takes 甫 and 寸. The sūtra writes 膊, which is borrowed and not the original character, and to pronounce it *páng* (普廊反 [pʰɑŋ]) is incorrect and departs greatly from the sūtra's meaning.
