炳著（上兵皿反明丙反下張慮反蒼頡篇炳明考聲火明也說文從火丙聲或作昺亦同著亦明也經作着俗字）。

炳著 (bright and manifest): The upper [character] has two readings: *bǐng* (兵皿反 [pˠæŋ̌]) and *bǐng* (明丙反 [pˠæŋ̌]). The *Cang Jie pian* says: "炳 is bright." The *Kaosheng* says: "The brilliance of fire." The *Shuowen* says: "It takes the fire radical with 丙 as its phonetic; also written as 昺, which is the same." 著 also means clear/manifest. The sūtra writes 着, which is a vulgar character.
