蚊虻（上音文俗字也下作蟁說文嚙人飛蟲也從民從䖵或從昬作𧓹以昬時而出故從昬下莫耕反經文作䖟俗字非也從䖵䖵音昆也）。

Mosquitoes and horseflies (蚊虻: the first character has the sound wen, a popular character; the orthodox form is written 蟁; the Shuowen says: "A flying insect that bites people"; it takes the radicals 民 and 䖵; or with 昬 as 𧓹, because it comes out at dusk (昬); the second character is mo-geng fan; in the scripture text it is written as 䖟, an incorrect popular character; it takes the radical 䖵; 䖵 is pronounced kun).
