鑒徹（上革陷反玉篇鏡也廣雅照也或作鑑下廛列反考聲通也說文從彳丑尺反從育從支經從去從曰非也）。

Thoroughly discerning (鑒徹: the upper character [mirror / discern (鑒)] is 革 [ge] + 陷 [xian] [jiàn]. The Yupian says: 'A mirror.' The Guangya says: 'To illuminate.' It is also written as 鑑. The lower character [penetrate (徹)] is 廛 [chan] + 列 [lie] [chè]. The Kaosheng says: 'To pass through.' The Shuowen jiezi has it composed of 彳 (丑 [chou] + 尺 [chi] [chǐ]), 育, and 支. The sūtra writing it with 去 and 曰 is incorrect).
