鎚擣（墜追反考聲槌擊也持也打䥫鎚也摘也亦作槌椎下刀老反考聲舂也說文以手椎擣也一云築也從手壽省聲或作捯或作搗）。

Pounding with a mallet (chuitou 鎚擣: [chui is pronounced with the] fanqie zhui-zhui 墜追. The Kaosheng says: “To strike with a mallet; to hold; an iron-striking hammer; to strike.” It is also written as 槌 or 椎. The second character is [pronounced with the] fanqie dao-lao 刀老. The Kaosheng says: “To pound in a mortar.” The Shuowen says: “To hammer and pound with hands.” Another source says: “To pound firm.” Composed of 'hand' (shou 手) with an abbreviated shou 壽 as phonetic. It is also written as 捯 or 搗).
