棒打（白項反俗字也字書打也正或作棓考聲大杖也說文擊也從木也）。

棒打 Striking with a club: (The first character has the fanqie 白項 [bàng]. It is a vulgar character. Character dictionaries say: "To strike." The orthodox form is sometimes written 棓. The Kaosheng says: "A large staff." The Shuowen says: "To strike." It takes 木 as semantic).
