妒嫉（都固反下秦栗反王逸注楚詞云害賢曰嫉害色曰妒說文婦妒夫也從女戶聲俗用從后或從石者並非也嫉亦形聲字）。

Envy and jealousy (妒嫉: [the first character] has the fanqie du + gu; the second character has the fanqie qin + li; Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: 'Harming the worthy is called 嫉; harming those of beauty is called 妒'; the Shuowen says: 'A wife envying her husband'; composed of 女 with 戶 phonetic; the popular writing with 后 or with 石 is in both cases incorrect; 嫉 is also a phono-semantic character).
