牽[爿-〡+(序-予+((圭*刃)/手))]（上啟堅反說文牽引也從玄下從牛下昌世反顧野王云𤸪猶牽也說文云引而縱也或作掣俗字也今經作抴誤也）。

牽掣 [dragging and pulling] (The first character is 啟 + 堅 [qiān]. The Shuowen says: "Qian means dragging"; it is composed of 玄 with 牛 below. The second is 昌 + 世 [chì]. Gu Yewang says: "掣 is like dragging." The Shuowen says: "To pull and then release." Sometimes written as 掣, which is a vulgar character. In the current sūtra text it is written as 抴, which is an error).
