爪齒(上莊絞反韻詮云手足甲也說文丮也丮居逆反又云覆手曰爪象形字也經中加手作抓誤用也乃是平聲抓癢字也或作祄非也下[山/虫]止反說文口齗骨也象口齒之形止聲也)。

Claws and teeth (爪齒; upper [character] *zhuāng* + *jiǎo* fanqie. The *Yunquan* states: "Nails of the hands and feet." The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "*Jǐ* 丮; *jǐ* is pronounced *jū* + *nì* fanqie." It also says: "A hand placed downwards is called *zhǎo*; a pictographic character." In the sūtra, adding the hand radical to write 抓 is a mistaken usage, as that is the level-tone character meaning to scratch an itch; it is also written as 祄, which is incorrect. Lower [character] pronounced *zhǐ*. The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "The gums and teeth of the mouth; picturing the shape of mouth teeth, with *zhǐ* 止 as phonetic").
