Valiant and keen (勇銳; *yuè* + *huì* fanqie. Gu Yewang states: "*Ruì* means sharp." The *Guangya* states: "*Ruì* means stabbing." The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "A sharp point; derived from the *jīn* (metal) radical with *duì* as phonetic." It is also written as 鏸, pronounced *hú* + *yán* fanqie. The character *yǒng* 勇 takes *lì* 力 below).
