障閡（上章讓反說文障隔也從阜形聲字也經從邑作鄣非也乃郡邑名也又是平聲下五蓋反俗字也正從石作礙考聲隔也止也拒也妨也從石疑聲也）。

Obstruction (障閡; upper [character] *zhāng* + *ràng* fanqie. The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "*Zhàng* means to block off; derived from the *fù* 阜 radical, a phono-semantic character." The sūtra takes the *yì* (city) radical as 鄣, which is incorrect, as that is the name of a commandery or town, and is also in the level tone. Lower [character] *wǔ* + *gài* fanqie, a vulgar character; the correct form takes the *shí* (stone) radical as 礙. The *Kaosheng* states: "To separate; to stop; to resist; to hinder. Derived from the *shí* (stone) radical with *yí* 疑 as phonetic").
