Whales, male and female (鯨鯢: the first character has the fanqie 渠迎. The Shuowen states: 'A giant fish in the sea.' The Huainanzi states: 'When a whale dies, comets appear.' The Zuo zhuan states: 'A great fish.' Xu Shuzhong [Xu Shen] says: 'The king of fishes.' It is also written as 䲔. The second character has the sound 霓.
