15.61

𧧳衒（上苦瓜反孔注尚書云憍恣過制以自𡗢大也謚法曰華言無實曰𧧳從言𡗢聲也今經文從亐從亐作誇俗用謬也下玄絹反玄字上聲韻英云行賣曰衒集訓衒自矜藝也從行玄聲也）。

Boastful flaunting (𧧳衒: the first character has the fanqie 苦瓜. Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says: "Arrogantly excessive, making oneself boastfully prominent." The Shifa says: "Flowery words without substance is called 𧧳." It is composed of 言 with 𡗢 for phonetic value. In the current sūtra text it is written with 亐 as 誇, which is an erroneous vulgar usage. The second character has the fanqie 玄絹, with 玄 in the rising tone. The Yunying says: "Peddling while traveling is called 衒." The Jixun says: "衒 means showing off one's own talents." It is composed of 行 with 玄 for phonetic value).
