磋切(七何反正作縒論語曰骨曰切象曰[石*荖]言骨切象磋以成器人學問以成道也)。

Cutting and grinding (磋切) (fanqie: 七 + 何. The orthodox form is 縒. The *Analects* states: "For bone it is called *qie* (cutting); for elephant [tusk] it is called *cuo* (grinding)." This means that bone is cut and elephant tusk is ground in order to make utensils, just as a person studies in order to achieve the Way).
