創皰（楚霜反今通俗作瘡說文作刅古文作𠟐下蒲皃反說文皰面生熱創也從皮包聲或作靤經文作疱非也）。

創皰: [The first character is] chu-shuang fan (chuāng); in current popular usage it is written as 瘡. The Shuowen jiezi gives it as 刅, and in ancient script as 𠟐. The second character is pu-mào fan (pào). The Shuowen jiezi states: "Pào means heat sores breaking out on the face; it derives from 皮 ('skin') with 包 as phonetic." Sometimes it is written as 靤. In the sūtra text it is written as 疱, which is incorrect.
